Crash involving MTO truck closes eastbound QEW near Cawthra

A crash on the Queen Elizabeth Way is going to make coming into Toronto more difficult on Thursday morning.

It happened in the eastbound lanes approaching the Cawthra Road ramp around 3:15 a.m.

Construction crew were doing patchwork repairs on the QEW when a tractor-trailer rear-ended an MTO pickup truck, causing fuel to leak in the area.

Only minor injuries were reported.

The eastbound lanes of the QEW are closed from Hurontario Street to Cawthra. Ontario provincial police said two lanes are expected to reopen soon.
