Iggy Azalea drops ‘In My Defense’, 5 years after first studio album

Jenna Salmers | posted Friday, Jul 19th, 2019

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Iggy Azalea dropped ‘The New Classic’, with bops such as ‘Fancy’, and ‘Work’.

Since dropping her label and launching independently under “Bad Dreams”, Iggy has curated her sophomore project ‘In My Defense’.

In a statement on Twitter, Iggy revealed that the project is, “a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze”.

The album features Kash Doll, Juicy J, Lil Yachty and Stini, and is laced with digs at her critics that is almost giving us Cardi B ‘Press’ vibes. The Aussie artist has often been in the centre of public controversy which inspired her bloodsoaked album artwork.
