“Probably the most important episode of #Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever,” Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Instagram accompanying a picture of the first page of the script on June 19. “A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke & Fred.”

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty will be joining the season premiere in what is described as an emotional role.
